Q: How was it to tour with this trio project?

Steve Gadd: “It was our debut tour and I had a ball playing with these guys, it was a lot of fun and I think that this could become a really unique trio. Often all the travelling can be a bit rough, but we had so many laughs together and also Michael brought so much great music on the tour bus for me to listen to and it inspired me a lot.”

Q: How was it playing a club tour like this in a trio format and how did the audience receive the music you played?

Steve Gadd: “I truly enjoyed it! The crowds were so receptive and they really loved Michael’s music and us as a band. They made us all feel very appreciated – that was really something!”

Q: You recorded most of the shows you played on the 2014 tour and this turned in to an album. How would you describe the music?

Steve Gadd: “The music that Michael wrote for this band is just very unique and it fits perfectly to his and Dan’s way of playing. I grew up listening to organ bands - I love that kind of music. I know Michael has been listening to a lot of great New Orleans drummers. Inspired by that kind of laid-back way of playing and lot’s of other great soulful music, I think he has come up with his own unique thing and the crowds loved it.”
